A blank dictionary episode

We had a blank dictionary episode in class last night. That's when the electric dictionary goes blank and one side has no idea what the other has said.

An over 50 year old student was talking about a wedding she went to so I asked her if she had a picture taken with the bride groom and she said no.

'Oh, so you were a partypooper,' I said.
She laughed and said 'No, you are a purple point.'

'Purple point? What do you mean?' I confusionally asked.
She replied, 'I didn't say purple point, I said Babylon.'

'Babylon? The ancient city? I was more confused.
She laughed again, 'I didn't say that, I said Paburon.'

'Well, Paburon is good medcine, but what has that got to do with me?' I cried.
She was a little exaspirated, 'I didn't say that, I said paapurin. Why don't you understand me, that is what you just called me.'

'I didn't call you that, I said partypooper,' I was very confused now.
She looked confused too and asked me, 'What does partypotty mean?''

Partypooper was in the dictionary but paapurin wasn't and all of the students just laughed and really wouldn't explain it to me. One student finally told me I had just lived it.
